Ogilvy Public Relations appoints Michele Anderson as Managing Director, Chicago

–– Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, today announced that Michele Anderson has been named Managing Director of the agency’s Chicago office. Anderson will relocate to Chicago and start at Ogilvy PR on April 1, 2014.
Reporting into Ogilvy PR North America CEO Robert Mathias, Anderson will be responsible for Chicago’s strategic direction and growth, overseeing client accounts, financial performance, business development, talent and office operations. She will also work closely with the agency’s global network and Ogilvy & Mather Chicago’s advertising and marketing disciplines.

Bringing over two decades of deep experience in client and agency management, Anderson has spent her career working with global and high profile Fortune 500 companies across multiple geographies, including Microsoft, Motorola, Vodacom (Vodafone), IBM, Pfizer, GSK, Equifax, FedEx, Coca-Cola and Hilton Hotels and Resorts.

Most recently, Anderson served as Director, Ketchum Atlanta where she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the agency’s Atlanta operations. While at Ketchum, Anderson also served as SVP, Director Corporate and Business Development for Ketchum South (Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, Texas). In this role, she led growth planning and business development for Ketchum’s southern U.S. network and was a member of the senior leadership team.
Before joining Ketchum South, Anderson was co-founder of Magna Carta, Ketchum’s South Africa affiliate, and spent 15 years running the award-winning agency. She held overall responsibility for the leadership, business strategy, financial and operational management, business development and group relations of Magna Carta on a daily basis, including the Cape Town branch and Africa operations. Under her leadership, Magna Carta transformed from a loss operator into the largest and most successful PR agency in South Africa and four-time winner of Finweek’s “PR Agency of the Year” award.
