Technology leader resumes executive leadership role
KANSAS CITY, Mo.
— VML, a leading global digital marketing company, today announced that Jeff Geheb has been appointed the agency’s chief technology officer. Geheb was previously VML’s chief technology officer until October of 2012.
Geheb returns to VML just one year after leaving the agency to become chief technology officer of Kansas City-based marketing technology company, Saepio Technologies.
“Jeff is a vital part of our leadership team and we’re so excited to welcome him back,” said Jon Cook, CEO and president at VML. “Jeff’s focus will be major client business and growth initiatives outside the core technology practice and his leadership will help build VML’s technology and innovation capabilities globally.”
Geheb will focus on expanding how the agency’s clients adopt, implement, and grow their marketing technology platforms. Key initiatives include deepening the agency’s practices related to big and small data intelligence, the digital shopper, omni-channel brand experiences, online/offline commerce, and real-time consumer engagement.
Geheb will also accelerate focus on VML’s investment in emerging digital innovation. This includes the launch of VML Labs, and internal innovation incubator, and will focus on ideas related to wearable computing, 3=D printing, and SoMoLo projects. Geheb will continue to build partnerships with many of the leading marketing technology companies and will play a key role in the blending of strategy, creative, and technology across VML’s rapidly expanding global network.
Co-executive directors, Mark McClendon and Kris Hiestand have been leading VML’s technology departments since Geheb’s departure in 2012. They will continue their day-to-day management and leadership of the department.
A Boston native, Geheb attended University of Kansas and began his VML career in 1999 as an intern in the technology department. He officially joined the agency in 2003 and worked his way up the ranks to become chief technology officer in 2011.
Geheb will report to VML’s CEO and president, Jon Cook. He officially rejoins VML today.
